The New al-Wasat

Much like when I used to live in Yemen, a big part of my day revolves around reading whatever newspapers get posted to the internet on any particular day. Back when walking to Tahrir was a morning ritual my favorite day was Thursday to read all of the big weekly papers, now that I’m stuck in Jersey I like Wednesdays for al-Wasat and Sundays for al-Ghad.

This past week, however, I was unable to find al-Wasat on-line. We now know the reason, the paper has a new on-line format, which is much nicer on the eyes than the previous version. Although it does look suspiciously like al-Ghad’s layout. I haven’t played around with it too much, but I do hope that Jamal ‘Amar didn’t mess to much with the on-line archives, which were quite extensive if not easily searchable. Anyway, judge for yourself.
