Today: Live stream from Kolumbo hydrothermal vent field near Santorini

Quick new post, but if you’re hankering for another live feed, check out the Nautilus Live feed – with the option to watch a split screen of all sorts of data. The Hercules ROV is exploring the Kolombo hydrothermal vent field near Santorini in the Aegean Sea. Santorini/Thera (see above) is famous for the Minoan eruption in ~1645 BC – and a spectacular place to visit. The Kolumbo (or Colombo) Bank is a volcano in its own right, last erupting (that we know of) in ~1650 AD.

{Special thanks to Eruptions reader Diana Barnes for the feed link.}
