Alexey Root

Alexey W. Root is a former U.S. Women’s Chess Champion with a Ph.D. in education from UCLA. She is a lecturer at The University of Texas at Dallas, teaching online courses about chess in education. Her first seven books, including Science, Math, Checkmate: 32 Chess Activities for Inquiry and Problem Solving, are available on Amazon. Her eighth book, United States Women’s Chess Champions, 1937–2020, will be published in 2022.
