Steven Masley
Steven Masley, M.D., is a board-certified physician, nutritionist, longevity researcher and award-winning patient educator. His passion is empowering people to achieve optimal health through lifestyle changes and comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical testing.
Dr. Masley was formerly the Medical Director at the Pritikin Longevity Center® and at St Anthony’s Carillon Executive Health. He is also an assistant clinical professor at the University of South Florida, faculty for leadership programs at Eckerd College and the University of Tampa, and the author of three books, including his latest book “Ten Years Younger.”
Over the past 15 years, he has helped patients trim down, get fit and tap into unsuspected energy levels. He has won acclaim for helping hundreds of patients reverse Type 2 diabetes and eliminate symptoms of cardiovascular disease through lifestyle changes. Following his Ten Years Younger program, patients have also been shown to increase brain function and productivity.
Dr. Masley completed his medical training at the University of Washington in Seattle, his specialty training in Family and Community Medicine at the University of Arizona in Tucson, and later became fellowship certified with the American College of Nutrition, a certified acupuncturist with The International Acupuncture Institute in Hong Kong and a certified densitometrist in bone density analysis with the International Society for Clinical Densitometry.
Dr. Masley began his clinical practice in Olympia, Washington. Later, as a clinical researcher for diabetic and cardiac rehabilitation, he became active in longevity and cardiovascular disease research. He was appointed principal investigator for studies sponsored by the American Heart Association at Morton Plant Hospital with the Florida Geriatric Research Program, one of the largest long-term studies on geriatric groups in the country. Dr. Masley is also a highly acclaimed chef, whose cooking experience has ranged from national cooking demonstrations and a chef internship at the Four Seasons Hotel in Seattle, to recipe consulting work with Bone Fish Grille.
As Medical Director, Dr. Masley updates the state-of-the-art testing program; performs detailed history and physical exams, stress cardio-pulmonary testing and nutrition evaluations; writes exercise prescriptions; and oversees our extremely comprehensive assessments. The Ten Years Younger Program developed by Dr. Masley has been shown to enable people to lose weight, build fitness and strength, improve blood sugar and cholesterol control, and enhance cognitive performance. The results from his programs have been features on the Discovery Channel, the NBC Weekend Today Show, and hundreds of additional media interviews.
