Bringing Back Compromise

After a rocky start, people will come once again to appreciate the idea that compromise and democracy are synonymous: that successful democratic governance *depends* on people recognizing what a heterogeneous society we have and so that they must accommodate one another.  Compromise to achieve things is a virtue.
