The best cinematic live-action adaptation of one of the silliest, most addictive mobile games I’ve ever seen!

My name is Robert and I can’t stop thinking about ninjas. These guys are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet.

Facts:

1. Ninjas are mammals.
2. Ninjas fight ALL the time.
3. The purpose of the ninja is to flip out and kill people.
” –Real Ultimate Power

So if you’re anything like me, you never, ever, ever use your mobile devices to play games.

Never.

And you’ve certainly never used it to play Fruit Ninja, one of the most addictive games that one can swipe a finger at.

The goal, for those of you who’ve never come across it before, is to slice through as many pieces of fruit as you can with each swing of your ninja sword without cutting through any of the bombs that appear.

It’s available on all sorts of platforms, super addictive, and a lot of fun. It’s also spawned, over the past few years, a number of pop culture spoofs and spinoffs that are hugely entertaining in various ways.

But my favorite take on this has got to be the varied ways people have interpreted having a real-life fruit ninja!

Of course, your first thought would probably be of a chef.

No doubt, a sharp knife in the right, skilled hands would make an outstanding fruit ninja.

For silliness, there’s this original video set, which makes training to become a true fruit ninja look like a lot more trouble that it’s worth.

But then I came across the following video, which is a must-watch, even to those of you who’ve come across it before. Combining a dubstep song (which I never listen to, but I assert is actually truly good), a young apprentice, and some fantastic cinematic styling, this is what I imagine a real-life fruit ninja would truly be!

I’ve listened to this maybe 20 times since I discovered it a little over a year ago, and I’ve been remiss in never sharing it with you before.

So enjoy your real-life fruit ninja, and have a great weekend! I’ll see you back here next week for more science, stories and wonders of the Universe!
