Evangelicals span a spectrum of faith, Warren says.

Question: What do evangelicals stand for?

Warren: Well evangelicals, they’re not one large group in and of themselves. I think evangelicals . . . You’ll find evangelicals pretty much along the spectrum of faith and action, although most would probably adhere to those four things that I just talked about; plus several other things like Jesus Christ will return to earth someday; believe in a literal heaven, a literal hell; believe in . . . that the church of Jesus Christ is God’s main instrument in this world to get stuff done. I think evangelicals would by and large believe that. And then from there I think they take quite a wide divergency of . . . on social issues, or on specific issues of culture and society. So other than that, I don’t think there is much harmony between evangelicals.
