Speaking at Syracuse University
Tonight, I’m happy to announce that I’ll be speaking to the Secular Student Alliance at Syracuse University on December 9, one week from tomorrow. The talk will be about ethics and morality: why divine command morality is inferior, what it means to say that morality is objective, and how we can decide between right and wrong in a godless cosmos. If you live in the Syracuse area, come out and see!
WHAT: The Science of Morality: How Atheism Is Compatible With Objective Ethics WHEN: Friday, December 9, 2011, 6:00 PM WHERE: Syracuse University, Maxwell Hall auditorium
The talk will be for about 30 minutes, plus Q&A afterwards. For those who can’t come, I’m going to try to arrange for video recording, and if that’s feasible, I’ll post a followup when it’s available for viewing. Hope to see you there!
And while we’re on the topic, I’m especially pleased to announce that I’ve also joined the speakers’ bureau of the Center for Inquiry. Check out my shiny new speaking page on CFI’s website. If you’d like to invite me to come and give a talk to your group, feel free to get in touch with me care of this website.
