The Value of Predictable Time Off
The idea of creating predictable time off and engaging in this process is not a panacea. It’s a wonderful way to begin to really unleash a change process that will cause you to continually surface issues and take action to resolve them.
As they like to say at the Boston Consulting Group, it doesn’t make a tough job easy, but it makes a tough job easier. And there are really significant gains along these different dimensions. That doesn’t mean, at the end of the day, it’s not consulting work. It’s still consulting work. The client still calls. There still is travel.
And so we haven’t fundamentally made work something different than it is, but we’ve really got people to rethink how they’re doing the work itself and now do it in the most productive way that they can figure out.
