Apparently, Dell spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on consultants and came away with only a single lesson: it needs to be more like Target. So, the company hired Mother to create a cool series of new 60-second TV advertisements featuring its Inspiron notebooks. Color, cool design, a Target aesthetic, and music by The Flaming Lips. Oh, and did I mention the supermodels in the hot pink bikinis and the guys in the plastic yellow rain coats? Hmmm. Somehow, I think that “cool design” was not the only problem faced by Dell.
