Jeff Reger over at deep focus has a great line on the media obsession- even requirement- to mention that Yemen is the ancestral homeland. I’ve talked about this in wearying length, but I think this sums it up very nicely.

That’d be kind of like every time we run a story about Ireland, we have to read that it was “the ancestral homeland of Timothy McVeigh.”
