A Brazilian brick-layer believed dead in a car crash shocked his mourning relatives when he showed up at his own funeral. The man, Ademir Jorge Goncalves, had been identified as a victim in a fatal car crash on Sunday in Parana in southern Brazil. As is customary in the region his funeral was held the next day. But Mr Jorge had in fact spend the night drinking with friends and was amazed to hear that his own funeral was taking place. “The corpse was badly disfigured, but dressed in similar clothing,” said the police spokesman, who talked on condition of anonymity as he wasn’t authorised to discuss the case. “People are afraid to look for very long when they identify bodies, and I think that is what happened in this case.”
