Like predicting the Apocalypse, predicting earthquakes is a tough business to be in. James Berkland is a very controversial figure in this field. In 1999, he was suspended from his job as county geologist for Santa Clara, CA until he stopped making predictions that caused mass panic. Berkland says the moon triggers earthquakes. Watch here:
In October, 1989 Berkland warned there would be a huge earthquake, which happened a few years later in San Francisco during the World Series. He’s still at it today, predicting the northwest U.S. was under the gun on March 19th, 20011. It didn’t happen.
