We are living in an age of great anxiety.
Question: How will this age be remembered?
Rick Warren: We’re living in an age of great anxiety. We’re living in an age of great turmoil. Every age has been a time of change. But what’s different about the beginning of the 21st century is not only are we changing, but the speed of change has increased rapidly. Just think of the technology we didn’t have 10 years ago. Skype, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, text messages on cell phones. Ten years ago we didn’t have two billion people with cell phones around the world.
Things are moving faster, and things are getting smaller. The world is getting smaller. So the only thing that we know for certain about the future is it’ll keep changing.
