Painting and sculpture are constant inspirations for Richard Meier.

Question: What inspires you?

Richard Meier: Well a lot of things do. Probably art more than photography or literature, more than any other arts. But painting and sculpture have always been of interest to me, and continue to be.

Question: Any particular artists?

Richard Meier: Oh there are a lot. ___________, contemporaries from the the 20th century. DeKooning, Kline, Rothko, Newman, Rauschenberg, Johns. There’s so many that I can think of. And then, of course, look back at people like Bernini – great architects of 16th century. All of these in some way __________ floating around in your head.
